Multiple OS
Find out which Operating Systems you are able to run on your server.
Each desktop or notebook or server is run by an Operating System - the low-level program that communicates with the hardware equipment, including peripheral devices such as a mouse or a printer, together with any apps that are present on the system. Any program input using a command line or a Graphical User Interface (GUI) is processed by sending an Application Program Interface (API) request to the Operating System. On a web server, every single app runs within the parameters established by the OS as well - priority, physical memory, processing time, etcetera. This is valid for both standard website scripts and server-side software such as a media server. If a virtual server is generated on a physical one, there can be two independent Operating Systems, named guest OS and host OS, so you can set up a different software environment on the very same machine.

Multiple OS in VPS
We offer you as many as 3 different Linux distributions for the Operating System of our
virtual private servers - Debian, CentOS and Ubuntu. These are some of the most stable and reliable OSs available and we supply all three of them instead of just one because we realize that you may want to install some software that has specific requirements for the Operating System it will run on. The latter is because each of the three Operating Systems has a large support community behind it and there are different software programs you may install on the hosting server. Your OS selection will also determine what hosting Control Panel can be installed on the VPS in case you wish to use one and because of this we offer multiple Control Panels too. Should you decide that you need a different OS, our tech support can quickly wipe the present one and set up the one that you would like. We also offer an optional service to maintain the OS on your VPS updated weekly.

Multiple OS in Dedicated Hosting
We offer three Operating Systems with our
dedicated server solutions - CentOS, Ubuntu and Debian. They're all different Linux distributions and we offer them not only because they're absolutely free and they won't increase the cost of your new web server, but also because they are very stable and secure. Each of them is backed up by a vast community of web developers, so you'll be able to choose from a myriad of software packages that you may install on your server if the app that you want to employ has certain requirements. The Operating System will also determine what internet hosting Control Panel you can use because the Control Panels that we offer are compatible with particular OSs only and since we want to give you as much freedom as possible, we offer multiple OSs and multiple Control Panels. If you choose a server with a given OS, we can change it upon request in case it turns out that you need a different one. We will also keep your OS updated weekly as a part of the useful Managed Services upgrade.
